Moral Objectivity and Religion
Thursday, Nov. 14, 5 p.m.
James J. Johnson Auditorium
Moral realists believe in the existence of objective moral facts. Some anti-realists have argued that there is a dearth of evidence for the existence of objective moral facts, and therefore that moral realism requires a leap of faith. So, is moral realism nothing more than a very unusual religion? If it were, would that be such a bad thing? Tea, snacks and conversation will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Johnson Auditorium Anteroom, and the presentation begins at 5 p.m. For more details about this event, visit coastal.edu/jacksoncenter and facebook.com/jacksoncenter
