| Details: | One of the main missions of the Coastal Carolina University "Spirit of the Chanticleer" Marching Band is to enhance the character of University functions with dignity, honor, pride, tradition, and excellence. As a brand new band, foremost in our planning is to design just how this becomes reality.
The Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band planning began in the Fall of 2002, with the first performance scheduled for September 6, 2003 at the first kickoff in the new CCU Football Stadium. New instruments began to arrive in December -- almost exclusively Yamaha with few exceptions. Uniforms for everyone except Colorguard were also ordered in December from Fred J. Miller, Inc., manufacturers of Cesario Custom Uniforms popular with DCI and marching bands across the country.
