| | Website: | Information not available. | | Details: | Our organization is the Society of Coastal and is affiliated with the national AKD. Once a year we induct students into AKD who have demonstrated a deep love of sociology, who have an outstanding GPA, and are at least a Junior or Senior. With membership honor of being a member, a certificate of being a member, a certificate of membership, and a year of the journal Social Forces. At the Spring Induction Ceremony AKD hears from a regionally or nationally known person whose work is admired. In the past few years this group has included a nationally known environmental laywer, the co-author of a books on Southern organizing, and a recognized authority on desegregation in the South.
