Visual Arts Academy
The Summer Arts Visual Academy will direct a challenging and inspiring program for middle and high school students, taught by CCU faculty, professional artists, and exceptional educators.
The Summer Arts Academy for Visual Arts is designed to introduce artistic technique above and beyond what the participants would have learned in their classroom setting at school.
Students will be instructed to “think” about their projects, not just “do” them!
Participants will have the opportunity to develop advanced skills in visual communication, portfolio development and the manipulation of two and three-dimensional media.
Visual Art Courses will offer experiences in creating with two-dimensional and three dimensional media as well as with technology. Visual art choices include Drawing, Figure Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Painting, Sculpture, Mix Media, Fiber Design and Crafts. Students will also engage in collaboration projects and art inspired games.
Participants will take part in group and individual projects, outdoor and indoor activities, evening art activities and many fun and creative extracurricular events.
An art exhibit in the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery of the students’ work will be held at the culmination of the program. Parents and friends are invited to attend the exhibit.
