- Fees & Waivers: The registration fee for the AAPT conference is waived for graduate students accepted into the seminar. The cost of meals and lodging, approximately $200.00, will be the responsibility of the participants or their departments.

Information About CCU:
The University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution which was founded in 1953 and became an independent institution in 1993. Coastal Carolina University currently has more than 8400 students and offers baccalaureate programs in 42 fields of study including acclaimed programs in marine science, resort tourism and professional golf management. Graduate programs include an MBA as well as master's degress in education and coastal marine and wetland studies. The department of philosophy and religous studies has been growing in lockstep with the university. The department has been offering a philosophy major since 2002 and currently has seven full-time faculty members and several lecturers and adjunct professors. Participants in the AAPT conference will stay in the recently remodeled dormitories which are close to the center of the picturesque campus. The conference sessions will take place in the Edwards Humanities and Fine Arts building which features state-of-the-art technology equipment and several computer lab classrooms.

Information About Myrtle Beach:
Since the campus is so close to the Myrtle Beach, many conference participants might want to explore the Grand Strand during their stay. Myrtle Beach hosts over 14.6 million visitors annually and is home to an array of tourist attractions. The area's attractions include it's beaches and many golf courses, as well as a number of amusement parks, and aquarium, over 1,900 restaurants including seafood restaurants, and a number of shopping complexes. Myrtle Beach has an estimated 460 hotels, with many on the oceanfront, and approximately 89,000 accomodation units in total. The area also has an IMAX theater, dinner theater, nightclubs, and many tourist shops. Other attractions include the Myrtle Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens.
The average air temperature for July is 91 degrees in the day with 81% humidity and 71 degrees at night with 65% humidity. Myrtle Beach sees an average of 215 days of sunshine each year. Summer showers are known to occur, so prepare for an occasional thunderstorm. The average ocean temperature is 83 degrees.
