What is A.B.L.E.?
The A.B.L.E. program is an exercise program targeted for those who are 50 years and older. Participants enjoy a variety of fitness activities from “land” and water aerobics to weight training. Classes meet five mornings a week in the Campus
Recreation
Center at Coastal Carolina University. Program sessions are held during the spring, summer, and fall semesters and coincide with the University schedule. Participants must register for each individual session. Upon registration, participants receive a University temporary parking pass which allows them to park on campus during exercise class.
When is A.B.L.E.?
During the spring and fall sessions, classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 8:15 am.Participants can attend “land” aerobics classes on Monday & Wednesday mornings.Classes are instructor led by certified aerobics instructors.On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, participants are invited to the weight room facility for an individual cardio or weight training workout.Classes held in the weight room facility are not instructor led.Participants are advised to exercise at their own risk even though some supervision is provided.Water aerobics classes are held Monday through Thursday and are led by a certified instructor.On Fridays, Deep water aerobics in the pool and Yoga class is offered in the aerobics studio.
Summer session times are announced during the spring semester. “Land” aerobics and weight training classes are offered on the same daily schedule as in the spring and fall sessions. Water aerobics classes are only offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

Each session costs $45.00 (prices are subject to change without notice). During the spring and fall sessions, participants will receive a monthly newsletter featuring upcoming events and announcements, health and exercise tips, healthy recipes, and much more. Summer session participants will only receive one newsletter during the session. Spring and fall sessions also have the opportunity to take a day or overnight trip to places such as the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC; street tours in Charleston, SC; and boat tours in Wilmington, NC . The cost of the trip is not included in the registration fee and spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. At the end of the fall & spring session, participants are invited to a catered breakfast.
