About CCU Surf Club
The Coastal Carolina Surf Club (CCUSC) is a student-run organization that works towards the promotion of our beach communities' health, beach safety, surf etiquette and technique. We accomplish this by raising money for local organizations and charities by being an active member of the surf and beach community at large. We would also like to raise awareness and support for the sport within the school and community.
Plans for fundraising include offering surf lessons, a campus luau, a bake sale, surf contests and more. We will also be raising money to go on an annual or biannual group trip in addition to local and regional competitions.
As part of our dedication to the community, we will start a beach clean-up initiative dubbed "Hang Ten, Take Ten". The program is as follows: every time you go surfing or just lay out at the beach, before you leave, dispose of 10 pieces of trash. Another goal of the CCUSC is to adopt a portion of beach heavily used by CCU's students, on which we will hold monthly cleanups.
We will strongly be emphasizing water safety and how to properly handle various situations that may arise while on the beach or in the water. All are welcome and encouraged to join!
