PERSONAL TRAINING SERVICES

Fitness Assessment Program~  

The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) offers fitness testing to students, faculty, staff as well as the community.


Using state of the art equipment the Smith Exercise Laboratory can assess your fitness level using several methods. 

Elements that can be tested through the Smith Exercise Laboratory include:

  • Cardiovascular fitness:

            Direct Measurement:  VO2 Max test – treadmill

            Indirect Measurement: Aerobic capacity

  • Body Composition:

            Hydrostatic: Underwater weighing

            Skinfold assessment

  • Strength testing
  • Flexibility
  • Lung Function
  • Resting Metobolic Rate
  • Blood Pressure
  • EKG

It is recommended if you are interested in receiving personal training that you undergo a fitness assessment to allow for your individual needs to be met.  The fitness assessment will aid the trainer in understanding your specific needs.


 

Personal Training~

 The Department of Campus Recreation is offering this new service to assist individuals in safely and effectively reaching fitness goals.  A personal trainer will work with you to increase your fitness level, teach you safe and effective exercise technique, and essentially bring you to a place of independence in your fitness pursuits.  It is a consistent and progressive way to motivate you to reach your goals.

All Personal Trainers are Nationally Certified.

All Sessions are 60 minutes in length.

Session Fees:              Students                                       Faculty & Staff

            1 session:                  $15                                                $30

            2 sessions:                $30                                                $60

            4 sessions:                $58                                                $116

            8 sessions:                $105                                             $210

            12 sessions:              $155                                             $310

*Session times will be determined according to your schedule and the trainers' schedule*

 

*Refunds are only given in the event of a medical emergency.  Documentation from a physician is required. <Click here for Waiver and Medical History Form>

 

Sessions must be completed within 60 days from the first session.

If you have to cancel your training session, you must cancel within 4 hours or your session will be forfeited.
