Equipment is only rented to Coastal Carolina University students, faculty and staff. A valid CCU ID is required. All rental and deposit fees must be paid at the time of the gear pick-up, via cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Coastal Carolina University. Renters are responsible for all equipment rented under their name.
Deposits: There is a check or money deposit for all gear rentals. It is $40.00 on everything besides tents and sleeping bags. For tents and sleeping bags there is a $125.00 deposit.
Late: A double charge for each day late will be charged if items are returned later than the agreed date. All gear should be returned by the following Tuesday for weekend trip, unless otherwise stated.
Wet/Dirty: There will be a cleaning charge if the equipment is returned dirty or wet. Cost is dependent on the cleaning to be done. Wet gear will result in a $5.00 charge.
Lost/Stolen: Lost and stolen equipment must be replaced and paid for by the renter at the current replacement cost of the item.
Damaged: Equipment will incur normal wear and tear. However, if a COA staff accesses the damage to be above normal wear and tear, repair fees will be charged. The Outdoor Recreation staff member will assess repair charges.
Any fees resulting from late charges, wet/dirty, lost/stolen or damaged gear will be taken from your deposit.
***Unpaid balances or fraudulent checks will results on a hold being placed on your student account.
