Recent Questions sent in by Fall 2009 students & family members
Q. Are we allowed to bring window air conditioners in our dorm room? If so, what are the dimensions? A. No. All Residence Hall rooms have central air and additional air conditioners are not allowed in student rooms.
Q. I am living in Santee Hall. Since it is a quad and i will be having my own room, i was wondering if cable is set up in every separate room or just the living common area? A. There are coaxial cable outlets in each individual room in all quads on campus in addition to a hookup in the main living area.
Q. In a Woods Quad, how big is the refrigerator provided in the shared space? Is there room for a small refrigerator in the individual bedroom? A. The refrigerator is a full-size unit (about 5 foot tall). This is adequate for most student needs for all 4 residents. However, if you bring a half-size or smaller mini-fridge, this will fit in the individual bedroom but will limit space so I would advise against it.
Q. In a Woods Quad, what is the size of the individual bedroom - trying to determine what the right size for a rug. A. T hese vary in size slightly between 8' x 10' and 8' x 8' overall wall to wall but the "open" floor space will typically accommodate a 6' x 8' area rug very well.
