30-Hour Safety Certificate

EHS 30 Hour Safety Training Program Certificate Requirements:

Completion of this Certificate program within 6 months meets the criteria for the OSHA 10 hour General Industry Outreach Training Program. The OSHA 10 hour General Industry Training Program is intended to provide participants with a broad awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards in a general industry worksite. This training is OSHA's primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. Individuals who complete this program will receive OSHA's 10 hour training pocket card. This training card is issued in the individual’s name and never expires. The card demonstrates a commitment to safety and an effort towards voluntary compliance with all applicable OSHA standards.

  1. Participants must complete the registration form.
  2. Participants must be complete the course of study within 6 months of the registered start date.
  3. Attend the following courses as required:

Required Core Courses: (11 hours)
EHS 3001 Introduction and Understanding OSHA (Two Hours)
EHS 1002 Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection and ladder safety (One Hour)
EHS 3002 Workplace Emergency Action Preparation Exit Routes, Fire Prevention and Protection Advance Safety Training (Two Hours)
EHS 3003 Electrical Advance Safety Training (Two Hours)
EHS 1005 Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] (One Hour)
EHS 3004 Materials Handling Advance Safety Training (Two Hours)
EHS 1006 Hazard Communication (One Hour)

Any five of the following as required electives: (5 Hours)
EHS 1011 Hazardous Materials (One Hour)
EHS 1012 Materials Handling (One Hour)
EHS 1013 Machine Guarding (One Hour)
EHS 1014 Introduction to Industrial Hygiene (One Hour)
EHS 1015 Bloodborne Pathogens (One Hour)
EHS 1016 Ergonomics (One Hour)
EHS 1017 Safety and Health Program (One Hour)
EHS 1021 Workplace Violence (One Hour)
EHS 1022 Permit-Required Confined Spaces (One Hour)
EHS 1023 Lockout / Tagout (One Hour)
EHS 1024 Aerial Lift Vehicle Safety Training (One Hour)
EHS 1025 Powered Vehicles / Forklift (Two Hours)

Any of the remaining electives not already taken for the above requirements totaling 14 hours or more hours of training: (14 Hours)

EHS 1038 Golf Cart / Utility Vehicle Operator Safety Training (One Hour)
EHS 1039 First Aid (Four Hours)
EHS 1040 Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED (Six Hours)
EHS 1041 CPR and AED Refresher (Two Hours)
