EHS Safety Training Program

The purpose of the Coastal Carolina University Department of Environmental Health and Safety Training Program is to provide university community members with the knowledge and tools necessary to reduce the risks associated with their learning, living and working environment to the lowest possible level. These safety training courses were developed in response to federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation agency requirements and institutional needs. CCU community members may elect to take safety classes individually or collectively to obtain the *10 or 30 hour training certificate.

*EHS 10 hour Safety Training Program Certificate

Completion of this Certificate program within 6 months meets the criteria for the OSHA 10 hour General Industry Outreach Training Program. The OSHA 10 hour General Industry Training Program is intended to provide participants with a broad awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards in a general industry worksite. This training is OSHA's primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. Individuals who complete this program will receive OSHA's 10 hour training pocket card. This training card is issued in the individual’s name and never expires. The card demonstrates a commitment to safety and an effort towards voluntary compliance with all applicable OSHA standards.

CCU EHS also offers First Aid, CPR and AED safety training.

Any difficulty with the Blackboard system should be directed to CeTEAL for assistance. Safety training opportunities may be found on the University’s Training and Development website: www.coastal.edu/traininganddevelopment.
