- To report an emergency on campus dial 843-349-2911.
Remember to remain calm, speak clearly, provide the necessary information such as address, phone number, and type of emergency, and answer all questions honestly.
- There are many call boxes located throughout the campus. A blue light signals the location of the box. These boxes are to be used to report problems to the police dispatcher, i.e. fires or medical problems. To operate the call boxes, press the red button and release. Once answered, press to talk and release to listen. The call boxes alert the dispatcher and also transmit over the radio system, so that everyone is alerted.
- Emergency phones are located in five locations. The emergency phones are to be used only in an emergency. Pressing the silver button activates these phones. The phone will dial into dispatch and they will answer. Then simply talk as if you were on a telephone.
- Anytime a question arises regarding fire or life safety that is not an emergency, feel free to contact the Division of Fire Safety at 843-349-2930.
