Graduate Opportunities in Atmospheric Dynamics and Chemistry at Coastal Carolina University.
Applications for two research assistantships leading to a MS degree are invited. One area is in the study of wave disturbances generated by coastal terrain and their effects on the circulation, chemistry, and cloud formation. Another is in analysis and modeling of secondary aerosols. A project comparing measurements made with different types of instruments from the INTEX-B and IMPEX field campaigns is also available. Familiarity with Linux and Matlab/IDL is desired. Candidates must have a solid background in physics, meteorology, chemistry, or a related geoscience field. Students will have the opportunity to receive a unique degree in Coastal Marine and Wetland Studies that encompasses a wide range of modern scientific disciplines relevant to the coastal zone. The positions provide teaching or research assistantships ranging from $11,000 to $14,000 annually, i.e. fall, spring, and summer and include tuition waivers. Contact Dr. Var Limpasuvan (var@coastal.edu) or Dr. Darlene Slusher (dslusher@coastal.edu) for further information about the assistantships. Interested applicants should visit
