Graduate Research Assistantship – Masters Degree
Coastal Marine & Wetland Studies Program
A South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium supported graduate research assistantship position, at Coastal Carolina University in the Coastal Marine & Wetland Studies graduate program, is offered to support a grant that is continuing in 2007. We seek a graduate student who would enter the program in the fall but who would be willing to work this summer starting June 1st. The student would pursue a masters degree related to shallow coastal ocean water quality in Long Bay, South Carolina. This study aims to understand the complex interrelationships between urban storm-water and estuarine discharge, microbial ecology, meteorological events, and physical oceanographic mediated phenomenon in promoting low dissolved oxygen (hypoxic) conditions in nearshore waters. More information about our research interests and masters program respectively can be found HERE .
