The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems has many computer labs that our majors have access to. We recognize that having access to powerful workstations is critical to the success of our students. Labs are available to all CS/IS majors and non majors who are enrolled in any CS course. Our labs are operational five days a week 8am to 6pm and anytime the building is open.
The High Performance Computing and Embedded Systems Laboratory houses 12 higher-end linux workstations and serves as a primary location for departmental tutoring. Additionally, this room serves as the home to other laboratory hardware such as our FPGA-based development boards and robotic platforms.
The Virtual Computing Lab is a small but spacious area that includes 8 fat clients with Windows 7 (including Office 2010), a TV with laptop connectivity, a whiteboard and table with network/power connections. This room is ideal for student groups working on projects who need isolation.
CSCC room 321 serves as our primary lecturing lab featuring 20 linux workstations that feature the necessary software for teaching and productivity. This lab is opertional at specific class times and by appointment.
