For Students and Alumni

If you are having problems logging into Moodle, email, Self-Service or other CCU services, you can reset your password. To reset your password, do the following:

  1. Go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
  2. Enter your Coastal email address
  3. Enter the code shown in the box.
  4. You will be prompted to verify your authentication methods
  5. Once you have verified your authentication methods, you will be prompted to enter a new password. 

Password criteria minimum requirements: The password must be at least eight characters long and must include characters from at least three of the following categories: uppercase letters, lower case letters, numbers and special symbols. Do not use words contained in your username, your name or your previously used passwords. You can change your password no more than once per 24-hour period. 

Note: Users are required to update Coastal passwords every 180 days. 

For Applicants

If you are having problems logging into the Student Account Center, you can reset your password. To reset your password, do the following:

  1. Go to https://www.coastal.edu/app/accountsetup/ and selct Reset Password.
  2. Enter the last 4 digits of your SSN (if you are an international student, enter the last four digits of the International Student Number that was given to you in your letter of acceptance).
  3. Enter your birthdate, Coastal username, and Coastal ID number.
  4. You will be prompted to answer the security question you created when you set up your account.
  5. Once you have correctly answered your security question, you will be prompted to enter a new password. Please use a different password than the one you used previously as it is a good security measure and best practice.

*Note* If you incorrectly answer your security question three (3) times, you will be locked out of your account. If this happens, fill out a Help Request Form
