Admission to the Professional Program in Special Education Learning Disabilities

Admission to the professional program during the later part of the sophomore year is through a formal application process that requires a minimum 2.5 grade point average, passing scores on a basic skills test in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (PRAXIS I), completion of specified introductory courses, submission of letters of recommendation, and positive evaluations from faculty on professional dispositions. Once accepted into the professional program, students at the junior level will be assigned to a special education cohort of approximately 20-25 students for the final two years of preparation.
