Admission to the Professional Program in Special Education Learning
Disabilities
Admission to the professional program during the later part of the sophomore
year is through a formal application process that requires a minimum 2.5
grade point average, passing scores on a basic skills test in Reading,
Writing and Mathematics (PRAXIS I), completion of specified introductory
courses, submission of letters of recommendation, and positive evaluations
from faculty on professional dispositions. Once accepted into the professional
program, students at the junior level will be assigned to a special education
cohort of approximately 20-25 students for the final two years of preparation.
