Student Organizations

In the fall 2006 Special Education majors formed the Special Education Club at Coastal and are awaiting official approval of a student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children, the largest international professional organization in Special Education.

Coastal has two other dynamic student organizations for education majors. The Education Club, which is open to all education majors, emphasizes campus service and social activities. Kappa Delta Pi, the national education honor society, recognizes academic distinction for those majoring in the field of education. It also offers students opportunities for professional growth and service to the University. Entry into Kappa Delta Pi is through an application process that considers the student's academic record as well as involvement in campus and service activities.
