CONCERT BANDS
There are no auditions for membership into the concert bands, only part auditions. In the fall semester, students should enroll in MUS 124A (Symphonic Band). During the last weeks of the fall semester, auditions are held for placement in The Coastal Winds or University Band in the spring sememster. Students who do not wish to be considered for The Coastal Winds may simply enroll in MUS 124 (University Band) for the spring semester as well.
PERCUSSION ENSEMBLES
The CCU Percussion Program offers numerous opportunities for students of all majors to make music in the percussion idiom. Ensembles include steel drums, Japanese taiko drums, the music of India and the Caribbean, as well as traditional western percussion ensemble. CHAMBER ENSEMBLES
The CCU Band Program offers numerous opportunities for students to participate in homogeneous small groups. Please visit the Ensembles page of the Music Department website for specific contact information and details. These groups are under the direction of the applied Wind & Percussion Faculty.
AFTER HOURS BIG BAND

SPIRIT PEP BAND
While there are no auditions for membership in the Spirit Pep Band, the traveling party must be limited to less than 30 members and there is an even smaller number of participation stipends, both of which may be decided by audition. MARCHING BAND
Hornline
There are no auditions for the Spirit hornline, but all members must audition for parts at band camp. If you are interested in auditioning for financial assistance, please click here. In order to become a member of the hornline, you must fill out the marching band interest form or contact the Band Office at 843.349.6480.
Drumline & Front Ensemble
Students interested in positions on the Spirit drumline or front ensemble must earn their place by audition only. Please visit the CCU Percussion Facebook page and contact Kurry Seymour at 843.349.2583 to learn more!
Auxiliaries
The Auxiliary unit of the Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band is comprised of the Colorguard, Coastal Glamour Twirlers, and Dance Team. Students interested in positions in one of these groups must earn their place by audition only. If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out a marching band interest form, visit the Auxiliary Facebook page, or contact Auxiliary Coordinator Laura Card at 843.237.9382. Proficiency on a musical instrument is not a prerequisite.
