How to BECOME A MEMBER You can receive information about any of our groups by filling out an online interest form.
CONCERT BANDS There are no auditions for membership into the concert bands, only part auditions. In the fall semester, students should enroll in MUS 124A (Symphonic Band). During the last weeks of the fall semester, auditions are held for placement in The Coastal Winds or University Band in the spring sememster. Students who do not wish to be considered for The Coastal Winds may simply enroll in MUS 124 (University Band) for the spring semester as well.
PERCUSSION ENSEMBLES The CCU Percussion Program offers numerous opportunities for students of all majors to make music in the percussion idiom. Ensembles include steel drums, Japanese taiko drums, the music of India and the Caribbean, as well as traditional western percussion ensemble. CHAMBER ENSEMBLES The CCU Band Program offers numerous opportunities for students to participate in homogeneous small groups. Please visit the Ensembles page of the Music Department website for specific contact information and details. These groups are under the direction of the applied Wind & Percussion Faculty.
AFTER HOURS BIG BAND Prospective members must contact the director Dan O'Reilly, by email or phone (843-349-2617).
SPIRIT PEP BAND All Pep Band members are selected by audition only. The group is limited to 29 members and 2 alternates with instrumentation based on the available pool of auditionees. Each member of the group (including alternates) will recieve a participation stipend of $240. All members must perform at on campus events, but only 29 members will travel to any away games or post season tournaments.
