Interfraternity Council (IFC)
The Interfraternity Council at CCU is the governing organization for 5 fraternity organizations.
Mostly social in nature, these student organizations are local chapters of National organizations historically designed
to serve as a means of student engagement with university communities outside of the classroom. Collectively and
individually, these organizations plan a range of events to encourage both social and civic engagement throughout the
CCU Campus and the Grand Strand communities.
The 5 organizations that make up IFC are:

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
Founded on May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, National Pan-Hellenic Council,
Incorporated (NPHC) is currently composed of nine historically Black International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities.
These member organizations are: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma
Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. NPHC promotes interaction
through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and
initiatives through various activities and functions.

to serve as a means of student engagement with university communities outside of the classroom. Collectively and
individually, these organizations plan a range of events to encourage both social and civic engagement throughout the
CCU and the Grand Strand communities.
