Dining Services

Dining Services at Coastal Carolina University is contracted through Aramark. Green Thread, Aramark's sustainability program and policies, displays their respect and commitment to protecting and improving the environment. 

Five Sustainable Practices with Dining Services:

  1. Implement an Energy & Water Conservation program
  2. Purchase only paper products with recycled content
  3. Implement daily green cleaning products
  4. Divert 100% of fryer oil waste
  5. Increase level of sustainable food offerings, with a yearly goal of 5%

Sustainable Practices at Dining Services at CCU

  • Fresh herb garden, including basil and oregano
  • Trayless in Hicks Dining Hall
  • Compostable plates in catering
  • Local food within 150 miles, including breads and bagels from Benjamin's Bagels, sweet potatoes, beets, collards, watermelon and cantalope
  • Cage-free eggs
  • Pork and chicken that is hormone, antibiotic free
  • Local PET Dairy
  • Recycled-content napkins
  • Single-stream recycling, including bottles, cans, glass, paper and cardboard
  • Pre-consumer composting
