College Level Exam Program (CLEP)

Students can take an online test and receive college credit for various courses. This
allows the student to decrease the amount of time it might take to earn a
degree. For a complete list of courses for which credit is given, as well as which
ones are accepted at Coastal Carolina University, see the online brochure.

Students may take each test only once and pass to receive credit for courses. Tests are given by appointment during regular Center hours. The CLEP Registration form must be filled out and sent in, along with a check (payable to CCU) or credit/debit card information for $40 (non-refundable). Once the form is received, it will be submiitted to the Dean of the College of the student's major for signature (CCU students only).  Once we have the Dean's approval, the candidate will be contacted and an appointment time set. Non-CCU students will be contacted upon receipt. The student will need to bring a valid ID and an $80 payment for CLEP, check or credit/debit card only, when they come to the Center to take their test.

NOTE: BEFORE SCHEDULING TEST, BE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED TO TEST.

Concise practice CLEP tests randomly drawn from comprehensive subject question banks
(400-500 questions per subject) provide students with a tangible way to gauge
their knowledge and get familiar with the types of questions they would face on
a real CLEP exam. Best of all, this can be accomplished in 20-30 minutes from
the ease of your laptop with instant feedback. Simply click on the practice
exam portal (
