Students can take an online test and receive college credit for various courses. This allows the student to decrease the amount of time it might take to earn a degree. For a complete list of courses which credit is given, as well as which ones are accepted at Coastal Carolina University, see the online brochure. Students may take each test only once and pass to receive credit for courses. Tests are given by appointment during regular Center hours. The CLEP Registration form must be filled out and signed by the dean of the major for which the student is enrolled and sent in, along with a check, made payable to CCU, for $40 (non-refundable). Once the form is received, the candidate will be contacted and an appointment set up. The student will need to bring a valid ID and a $77 payment for CLEP when they come to the Center to take their test.
Concise practice CLEP tests randomly drawn from comprehensive subject question banks (400-500 questions per subject) provide students with a tangible way to gauge their knowledge and get familiar with the types of questions they would face on a real CLEP exam. Best of all, this can be accomplished in 20-30 minutes from the ease of your laptop with instant feedback. Simply click on the practice exam portal (http://www.speedyprep.com/clep/free-practice-test).
