The GRE® General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study.
Currently, this test is offered via computer, during regular Testing Center hours. Candidates may schedule through the Testing Center or the Education Testing Services website, www.ets.org.
The test is four and one half hours in length and candidates see their unofficial scores upon completion of the test. The cost of the test is $160 and payment is due when scheduling the appointment.
Note: You may take the GRE General Test (computer-based and/or paper-based) only once every 60 days and no more than five times within any continuous rolling 12-month period.
Taking the GRE® revised General Test
Registration is now open for the GRE revised General Test, which replaced the current GRE® General Test on August 1, 2011. It features a new, test-taker friendly design, new types of questions and, if you test in August or September 2011, a 50% savings on your test fee (you must register online at ETS.org)
Please note that if you test during this special discount period of August 1 - September 30, 2011, your GRE scores will be sent by mid-November 2011. Detailed Score Reporting Schedule:

In December, score reporting for the computer-based test will return to the regular
reporting period of 10 to 15 days after the test date.
Subject Test
The GRE® Subject Tests gauge undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study.
subject test is a pencil/paper test, offered on national test date and it is administered on the Coastal Carolina University campus. To schedule this test, you must refer to the website: www.ets.org or call 1-866-473-4373. You may take Subject Tests as often as they are offered.
