Coastal offers an exciting program that has countless advantages and opportunities for the student focusing on the design and production disciplines of theatre. Our commitment to a full and rigorous season means opportunities for the hands-on practical experience that supplements and informs your coursework and can lead directly to the professional stage.
As a Design and Production major, you will be a part of a company that produces 2-3 mainstage musicals, 2-3 main stage plays, a dance concert, at least 2 student produced plays, and various other events each year. That equates to opportunities to assistant design and design costumes, sets, lights, props and sound, including possible main stage opportunities. Our Second Stage season is fully created and produced by students and offers the unique opportunity to create exciting theatre in a safe and nurturing environment before you embark on your professional career.
