Kevin D. Ferguson is a playwright and MFA Candidate in the Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University. He is also Playwright-in-Residence at Atlantic Stage in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His one-act play Losing Sight is a finalist for the 2013 John Cauble Outstanding Short Play Award, won the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region IV 2013 One-Act Play Award, won the 2012 One-Act Play Competition at the Georgia Theatre Conference, was a finalist for the 2012 Georgia College Arts and Letters Prize in Drama, and was workshopped at The Spot in Arroyo Grande, California. His ten-minute play Folie a deux/Pas de deux was commissioned as the 2012 Season Opener for The Tesseract Theatre Company in St. Louis, Missouri, was workshopped in 2012 at The Tinker by dwellingdancetheatre in conjunction with the Roanoke Ballet Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia, and won a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region IV 2013 Ten-Minute Play Award. His play A Thing With Feathers was a semi-finalist in the 2012 SC Playwright’s Festival at Trustus Theatre in Columbia, SC and a workshop production of A Thing With Feathers ran from November 16th to November 18th, 2012, at The Tesseract Theatre Company. His play Child’s Playwas the featured play at Atlantic Stage’s 2012 New Play Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC and will have a three-week engagement in 2013 in Atlantic Stage’s fifth season. Kevin is committed to arts education and believes in the power of the arts to transform lives. He is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild.
