The Volunteers@Work initiative demonstrates Coastal Carolina University's commitment to volunteer outreach by connecting employees to local agencies in need of service. Through these efforts faculty and staff learn about and experience service in our community and make a difference by helping others while building camaraderie and a stronger community.
Pre-registration for Volunteers@Work events is required. Click here or on the V@W graphic on the right to download the registration form.

Where we've been...
All 4 Paws
All 4 Paws is a non-profit organization in Pawleys Island that rescues dogs and cats and helps them find loving homes. As a compassionate no-kill rescue organization it strives to save and place as many homeless, abandoned, and abused animals as possible while being a responsible community resource. Our Volunteers@Work were able to spend time walking the dogs, playing with the pups, caring for the cats, and bathing many of the animals that have been saved by this organization.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship. The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs promote and enhance youth development by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence – all in a safe place. The Volunteers@Work team spent a day at the Myrtle Beach camp on “Event Day: Animal Tracks,” where youth learned about the lives of animals and CCU faculty and staff helped them through a scavenger hunt. For more information about Boys and Girls Clubs in our area, visit YouthSouth.org.
March for Babies
The March of Dimes March for Babies raises funds for organizations in our community to help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies, and to fund research to find answers to serious problems that threaten babies. Our group of volunteers helped with a March for Babies walk by setting up banners and water stands, preparing the registration tables, and putting together goodie bags for event participants. This community kitchen in Conway offers hot meals every night to those who are facing hardships in our community. Shepherd's Table provides a safe place for these families to take a break from life and enjoy a great meal. Our V@W team helped prepare a delicious spaghetti dinner complete with hot garlic toast, soup, fresh salad and dessert. The team had a chance to mingle with guests before they cleaned up and prepared for the next day.
