Jennifer Shinaberger is the assistant director of distance learning in the Center for Teaching Excellence to Advance Learning, the faculty development center at Coastal Carolina University. She works with faculty as an instructional coach and consultant to help them bring innovative and proven pedagogical practices to their classrooms and she assists faculty in the development of distance learning courses and the integration of technology into courses to improve the teaching and learning process. Shinaberger is also a teaching associate in the Spadoni College of Education where she teaches instructional technology. She has been in the field of education for 18 years and was a Spanish teacher prior to joining Coastal Carolina University in 1998.
Shinaberger has presented at regional and national conferences such as Lilly South Conference on College and University Teaching and Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network in Higher Education Conference. She has been a reviewer for conference session proposals and a manuscript reviewer for "To Improve the Academy," the annual publication of the POD Network in Higher Education.
Shinaberger is a charter member of Women in Philanthropy and Leadership and served as WIPL Secretary for many years until 2013 when she was elected vice president/president-elect.
She is married to Lee Shinaberger, a lecturer in the Wall College of Business at Coastal Carolina University.
