Mary Jo Roberts

Since 2004, Mary Jo Roberts has worked for the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), a non-profit membership association dedicated to the training and education needs of the financial risk profession. Serving more than 150,000 members worldwide, the company is headquartered in Jersey City, N.J., with offices in London and China. Roberts manages the GARP Career Center, an online job board that generates career opportunities for members. She is responsible for marketing, sales, reporting and customer service. She manages the Internet-based GARP Career Center from her home in Conway.
Prior to joining GARP, she worked at Pace University in New York for 17 years where she served primarily as director of advising for the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences; she also held positions in the Law School, Admissions Office and Registrar’s Office. In addition to assisting students, Roberts also worked with faculty on core curriculum revision, planned numerous recruitment, conversion and student recognition events, and administered a named scholarship.
While at Pace, Roberts completed two degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration.
Her latest endeavor was completing a voice actor training program. Roberts has recorded a few radio commercials for local business and looks forward to devoting more time to this new business opportunity.
She is married to Michael H. Roberts, the dean of the College of Science at Coastal Carolina University, and has two stepdaughters: Catherine, a graduate of Ithaca College in New York and Rebecca, a mathematics major at the University of New Hampshire.
