Two scholarships for CCU students to participate in Global Women's Leadership Development program
(Washington, DC) Women in Philanthropy and Leadership for Coastal Carolina University announces that, through the generosity of a private donor, two scholarships have been provided to the Washington Internship Institute's (WII) new course, Global Women's Leadership Development (GWLD). The scholarship provides the opportunity for a qualified student to represent CCU at WII for the fall 2013 semester and another in spring of 2014.
The first recipient of CCU’s scholarship will have the opportunity to attend a symposium in September on the status of women in Afghanistan. This high-profile event will be held at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars. Tracy McLoone, instructor for GWLD, connects students with people on the direct issues of domestic and international policy affecting women in leadership. The seminar-style classes focus on dialogue, discussion and debate, shaping ideas and critical thinking skills.
