David Yancey has been with Coastal Carolina University since 2009 and currently serves as the Assistant Provost for Special Projects reporting to the Provost. In addition to his role as Assistant Provost, Mr. Yancey also serves as the inagural President of the Staff Senate.
In his role as Assistant Provost he is responsible for supporting the Provost with relevant data on current topics, ensuring the implementation of enterprise-level University initiatives, as well as ad hoc projects. Previous projects include commencement ticketing, redesign of the University website, academic financial analysis, the Bridge program implementation, CRM implementation, College of Education portal enrollment, electronic graduation application, faculty compensation models, community knowledge creation, and a host of information systems. Mr. Yancey is also an active member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as well as the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and has given conference presentations on various projects at the Southeast Datatel Users Group (SEDUG) conference.
Mr. Yancey graduated with his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from the University of South Carolina. He received his masters in business administration and his graduate certificate in applied computing both from Coastal Carolina University, and is currently pursuing his doctorate in organizational change and leadership from the University of Southern California. He has served as an adjunct faculty member in the College of Business and his areas of academic interest include systems design, organizational management, and information systems.
