Dr. Hu received his Ed. D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, majoring in teacher education and curriculum studies with a professional specialty in mathematics education and mathematical habits of mind. He comes to us from the University of Alaska Anchorage where he served as a professor of mathematics education and chair of the department of teaching and learning. He has served in several administrative roles which include program practicum coordinator, program assessment coordinator, elementary education program lead, secondary education program lead, department chair, and associate director.
