Begin at the beginning,” the Kind said, very gravely, “and go on til you come to the end; then stop.” Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Trisha retired from a 40-year career as a journalist and executive editor in December 2010 and began teaching journalism at CCU in the spring 2011 semester. The following summer, at the request of Dean Dan Ennis, she also became the director of the newly created Athenaeum Press, a student-driven experiential learning lab that produces a small number of professional quality publications that are both analog and digital. The press strives to produce innovative, contemporary stories organic to our region that include and involve the Coastal community and the regional communities.
Before turning to teaching, Trisha worked as a reporter and editor at news organizations in seven states, including Anniston, Ala., Madison, Wis., Wichita, Ks., Charlotte, NC and Myrtle Beach. Her primary passions are investigative journalism and narrative, interactive story telling.
