We must be willing to let go of the life that we planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” – Joseph Campbell
Raised along the shores of Lake Huron in Eastern Michigan, Tasha Newcomb exchanged coastlines and opted for sandals instead of snowshoes at her first opportunity. After earning her undergraduate degree in English from CCU in 2008, Mrs. Newcomb moved to the Dominican Republic as a missionary, English teacher, and naïve student in the game of life. Upon her return to the States, Mrs. Newcomb accepted a job in the Office of Admissions at CCU where she discovered her knack for helping new students navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of higher education. As an academic advisor, Mrs. Newcomb hopes to assist students in their transition to college and in discovering how their passions can lead to a paycheck (and degree!).
When not on campus, Mrs. Newcomb can be found snuggling her first-born, binge watching Hulu or Netflix with her husband, or sneaking in some retail therapy. She lives for 70 degree days, when a hammock and a good book make it seem like all is right with the world.
