Biography 

Emily F. Brooks is joining the Department of English as an assistant professor of digital culture and design. She earned her graduate certificate in digital humanities and PhD in English from the University of Florida after defending her dissertation, The Unique Codex Digitization Project: Treasuring the Materiality of Books in Fourth-Wave Digital Humanities. As a "makeademic," her research and pedagogical interests include visual rhetoric and multimodal composition; physical computing and digital fabrication; and the material histories and digital futures of the book.
