Lena Butingaro is a twenty-one year resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in History, Summa Cum Laude, from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Arts Degree with Distinction in English Literature from Mercy College. Ms. Butingaro's Master's thesis, "Allegorical Alchemy: Microcosmic Man and Christian Eschatology in the Poetry of John Donne," focused on the coexistence and unity of spiritual and material realms in relation to Donne's metaphysical poetry and the alchemical processes of putrefaction, incineration, and transmutation. Ms. Butingaro has taught at Coastal Carolina University in the Department of English since 2010, and is now currently a Lecturer at the same institution. She teaches Composition as well as Composition and Critical Reading courses.
