Karan is a former journalist from Fiji. Prior to relocating to the United States, he worked for the country’s largest newspaper – The Fiji Times, Fiji Broadcasting Corporation – the country’s largest national radio network, and PACNEWS – a regional news agency. He is also a former Fiji Correspondent for Radio Australia – a regional network for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation serving the Asia Pacific and Africa regions. Karan received the Young Pacific Radio Journalist of the Year in 1998.

Karan worked in the hospitality/hotel sector from 2002 to 2021. He held various management and senior leadership positions with Marriott International, Marriott Vacation Club and most recently Wyndham Destinations. He has lived and worked in multiple cities and states in the US. Karan graduated Cum Lauda from California State University Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Management and minoring in Economics. Karan decided to return to college in 2021 to pursue his MBA at Coastal Carolina University. He accepted a full-time position at Coastal after starting his graduate program.

He loves all things soccer! His favorite teams are Everton (English Premier League) and the United States national team. He is also a season ticket-holder for Chanticleers Football.

Originally from Fiji. Also lived in the Australia city of Hobart, Tasmania,and Melbourne, Victoria.
