Biography

Señora Claudia A. Sanford Galindo was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and is a mother, a wife, and a teacher, as well as a student at the College of Charleston and New Mexico State University. She graduated from the Universidad Externado de Colombia with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and became an executive for Manufacturas Eliot SA., manufacturing textile products, and has experienced with mass production and expediting.  She is also currently enrolled  as a student in the M.Ed in Languages and Cultures, Spanish program at the College of Charleston.

She has significant accomplishments in projects and program management, deadlines, market research, and product evaluation.  Her contributions also include team leadership and management, costing, purchasing, resourcing, organizing, and planning operations.  Señora Sanford was a court translator for judges, private and public attorneys, and the State of Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation.  Señora Sanford was an International Recruiter for Capital University, recruiting in Latin America and meeting with school and governmental officials, prospective students and others interested in the college experience.  Señora was also a Home Stay Coordinator at Ohio Dominican University, Columbus, Ohio for Japanese students from Osaka University.  

Señora Sanford is looking forward to teaching her students the ability to use their Spanish knowledge to perform everyday communication at various levels for real life situations and to become acquantied with and curious about other cultures and ways of life in Spanish speaking countries.  

She enjoys teaching and incorporating technology for instruction, practice, and assessment, and is also interested in making a positive impact on students by creating an environment conducive to learning, retention, and application of the Spanish language.

Interesting Facts

1. I was an international recruiter in South America and a home state coordinator for Capital University in Columbus, Ohio for Japnese students from Osaka University in Japan.

2. Designed an implemented a Spanish program for k-8 Elementary and Middle School.

3. I am the chair of the Architectural and Landscape review Committee in my community. I wrote articles about landscape and curb appeal.

Because of my current studies I am interested in language acquisition and proficiency as a second language, as well teaching methods that define best practice.
