Teaching Associate, Music/Director, Marching Percussion
Dr. James McDonald is currently serving as the Director of Marching Percussion and Teaching Associate at Coastal Carolina University. Dr. McDonald previously served as the Interim Professor of Percussion at Texas Tech University, where he received his DMA and MM in Percussion Performance. He received his BM in Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University. Dr. McDonald has performed with ensembles at such prestigious conferences as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (2002, 2005, 2008, and 2011), Texas Music Educators Association Convention (2005, 2008, and 2012), and the International Society for Music Education Conference in Beijing, China (2010). Dr. McDonald was the Principle Percussionist for the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra from 2007-2011 and was on the sub-list for the Midland Odessa Symphony and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra from 2008-2016.
