Kathy's research is in philosophy of time and focuses on issues such as the nature of the passage of time, the experience of time, how many times exist, the relationship between time and causation, whether we can conceive of a timeless reality, ontological implications of scientific theories, and the purpose or function of the concept of time. She is also interested in the nature of death and what different theories of personal identity entail for the possibility of surviving death. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at places like the beach and Brookgreen Gardens, playing pinochle, and traveling.
