Richard Aidoo, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics. He also serves as Assistant Dean of Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (International Relations and Comparative Politics) from Miami University in Ohio. His current research looks at the economic and political engagements between countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Notably, how these African countries are straddling between Western neoliberal arrangements and the global economic agenda of countries like China.
He has widely written on Sino-African relations, and economic development issues in Africa. Aidoo is the co-author of “Charting the Roots of Anti-Chinese Populism in Africa.”

Interesting Facts

Aidoo teaches a bi-annual course that incorporates the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT), which allows students to combine course work at CCU with travel to Trondheim, Norway for one of the world’s largest student gatherings.
