Gwendolyn Schwinke is a professional voice, text and dialect coach, director, and actor. As a voice coach, Gwendolyn is a member at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts where she serves as Vocal Coach and Training Faculty. Previously, she’s served as vocal coach for professional companies including Oxford Shakespeare Company in Mississippi, Cheap Theatre and Frank Theatre in Minneapolis, and multiple university productions including On the Razzle, Pride and Prejudice, Metamorphoses and Twelfth Night at CCU.
Professional directing work includes The Subject was Roses, Driving Miss Daisy and Sylvia for Atlantic Stage in Myrtle Beach; The Empress of Mexico for The Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis; and the site-specific, multidisciplinary devised work, Six Heads, coproduced by Diwata Productions and The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. At Coastal Carolina she has directed Julis Caesar, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Sweetest Swing in Baseball, and. Intimate Apparel.
As an actor, she has performed with theatres including Red Eye Collaboration, Carlyle Brown & Company, Frank Theatre, The Playwrights’ Center (all in Minneapolis), Old Creamery Theatre (IA), Oxford Shakespeare Festival (MS), Pulse Ensemble Theatre (NYC) and Atlantic Stage (SC). She is a member of Actor’s Equity.
Gwendolyn’s work as a playwright has been produced or developed by Red Eye Collaboration, The Seattle Repertory Company and off-Broadways’ Cherry Lane Theatre among many others.

Gwendolyn Schwinke exemplified what an educator should strive to do and be. She never passed up on an opportunity for students' growth. Gwendolyn combined kinesthetic, spatial, linguistic and auditory learning styles. Whether it means creating a set of phonetic alphabet pillows, complete with textures and colors that best embody their "sound"; or dramaturgy to discover the circumstances that may have influenced a playwright's body of work -- she will find as many ways to create connections, to make ideas tangible and relatable to students.
