Of course it's hard. The hard is what makes it great. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it." Tom Hanks as Jimmy Dugan in "A League of Their Own", my favorite movie.

Kris Rau McIntyre is an Actor's Equity Association member, getting her start as a professional actor at Theatre Virginia working in nine productions with some amazing industry legends, her favorite of whom was Dick Van Patten. Kris has been a faculty member at CCU since August of 2002, having taught courses in Theatre, Communication, Humanities and Fine Arts, Visual and Performing Arts, First Year Experience, and in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, for which she was the Assistant Director from 2017-2019. In addition to earning an MFA in Acting, Kris has enhanced her teaching of acting by becoming certified as a trainer in the Meisner Technique, and is an RYT-certified yoga instructor, which she uses to help actors to get out of their heads and into their bodies. Kris has served as the Coordinator of the Theatre B.A. program since 2019, and in 2018 became the Faculty Advisor to the Discovery Series, the Department of Theatre's student-produced and directed plays, which have included In the Blood, Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, The Women of Lockerbie, How I Learned to Drive, and the upcoming QEP project The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. She was also a founding company member of the professional company Atlantic Stage, where she acted in and directed in numerous productions from 2009-2016. Kris and her husband Marc met in the undergrad theatre department at NCSU in 1996, and have appeared onstage together in many productions over the past 26 years, including The Nerd, Almost, Maine, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Murder at the Vicarage, The Mousetrap, 1940’s Radio Hour, Side by Side by Sondheim, and children’s touring theatre productions of Down on the Farm and Beauty and the Beast.
