Biography
Alexandra Knox is an assistant professor in the department of visual arts. She received her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Oklahoma and a BFA from East Carolina University. Her practice spans mold making and casting, construction, installation and performance. Knox’s work is most often autobiographical, and draws references from her surroundings on the two acre country property where her family resides. Knox has exhibited her work nationally and abroad; she was a recipient of Oklahoma’s Art 365 Grant in 2012 and performed at TEDx Women’s Conference in 2015 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Currently, she teaches foundations and upper level sculpture classes at Coastal Carolina University.
