Biography

After receiving my Masters of Fine Arts degree from Memphis College of Art in Tennessee, studying art history at Cambridge in England, studying painting in the South of France in Provence, architecture in Barcelona, Spain. I returned to my native Kentucky to accept an appointment as Chair of Fine Arts at St. Catharine College near Bardstown, Kentucky. I was very happy there for over twenty years, serving on many academic committees and partnering with local government to promote the arts, boosting economic growth.

On a visit to Myrtle Beach, a friend suggested that I drop in at Coastal Carolina University to see if they had any openings in the art department, so I did. I had the good fortune of meeting Easton Selby, Chair of Fine Arts in the Edwards Fine Arts Building. He took the time to look at my resume, was impressed with my credentials and was able to offer me a position as a Teaching Associate in the Visual Arts Department. I accepted!
