Biography

Brian Wagner began working at CCU in October 2011. Wagner completed his bachelor’s degree in communication (2001) and master’s degree in student affairs in higher education (2008) both from The Ohio State University. Prior to working at CCU, he worked for two years in the nonprofit industry in Cleveland, assisting underserved populations in pursuing higher education beyond high school. Additionally, Wagner worked four years in Residence Life at Cleveland State University and Otterbein University, assisting students in their transition to college.

The academic majors that Wagner advises are biology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering sciences, applied mathematics, marine science, and physics. His number one piece of advice for students would be to,  "Take advantage of the opportunities that college has to offer and to live in the moment! A lot of students have the tendency to want to rush through the college experience…I encourage students to take part in the unique opportunities (study abroad, interesting research opportunities, the mentorship of great faculty members) that you can only get by going to an institution like Coastal. College is one of the only times in your life that you are surrounded by interesting people from all over the country and the experiences that these people bring with them. Learn from these people and their experiences as much as you learn in the classroom!"
