“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, Love of what you are doing or learning to do.” -Pele
Teresa began working at Coastal Carolina University in June of 2018. Teresa completed her Bachelor of Science Degree, Sociology-Psychology at Francis Marion University (1995) Florence, Sc. She went on to earn dual Master of Arts Degrees Human Resources Development and Management-Leadership from Webster University (2009 and 2010) Metro Myrtle Beach, Sc.
Teresa has acquired more than 15 years of work experience in the higher education sector. Prior to her employment at CCU, she worked in the Office of International Education as Study Abroad Adviser with American InterContinental University (London-Dubai campus) main office Atlanta, Ga. Several years later joined the Office of Admissions with DeVry University as an Admission Adviser, main office Decatur, Ga. After moving back to Myrtle Beach, Sc in 2009 she worked for Miller-Motte Technical College, Conway, Sc as full-time instructor where her passion grew for the teaching platform on the collegiate level.
The Academic majors that Teresa advises are Psychology, Sociology, Marine Science and instructor. As an adviser, she enjoys working with the students towards achievement of their goals coupled with her passion to teach is a “phenomenal combination”. Teresa encourages students to “explore their passions” within their career choices. She is also a strong advocate for student exploration in study abroad programs, which equips students with real world experience that cannot be obtain inside their classes. My best advice is to “embrace learning, for it is a lifelong venture so let’s learn along the way”.
