Biography
Tonya Melvin-Bryant, lecturer of computing sciences, is a native of Newburgh, N.Y., and moved to Coastal Carolina from Durham, N.C., where she worked as a software engineer. She began teaching part-time at local community colleges while working and quickly fell in love. She now has 20 years of experience teaching in the areas of computer science, computer information systems, and information technology. Melvin-Bryant obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. While there, she also received a Bachelor of Science in computer science and a Master of Science in computer engineering. She also holds an Applied Science degree in accounting.
