Denise began working at CCU in August of 2014. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate degree at The Pennsylvania State University with a major in Psychology (B.A.) and a minor in Civic and Community Engagement. After graduation she attended Slippery Rock University to obtain her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Student Affairs in Higher Education. While at SRU, she worked as a graduate assistant in the Office of Enrollment Services, focusing on orientation programming along with academic advising and registration workshops.
The academic majors that Denise advises are Exercise and Sport Science (first and second year), Public Health (first year), and Recreation and Sport Management (first year). Her favorite part of working with Coastal students is the positive energy they bring to a day. “I can come to work having a bad morning, and talking with a student can turn my day around completely. CCU is an amazing place to work and being around our students keeps my energy up.” Her number one piece of advice for students would be to step outside of your comfort zone. In college you can easily find opportunities to try new things and meet new people, so utilize those opportunities and have fun!
